28th of May- 5th of June:54th Chianti Wine Festival

Once again Montespertoli will be hosting its annual appointment with the best red wines, strictly Chianti, Chianti Montespertoli and Chianti Colli Fiorentini. The Festival will be providing an even richer schedule of events for its 54th edition divided into two separate phases to cater to an increasingly diversified and demanding public. The 2011 Edition of the Festival is also an important benchmark for technicians and experts in the wine sector: workshops, seminars and themed meetings to find out the latest news on vine-growing, harvesting and wine-making techniques. For the professionals the Mostra del Chianti is an opportunity to catch up not to be missed while for the town of Montespertoli it is an added attraction; an event which has rightfully become part of the Tuscan gastronomic and wine-making tradition. There’ll be plenty of space given over to tastings and sales with a special focus on the technical aspects and production methods and meetings with wine appreciation experts. The Mostra del Chianti is a flagship for Montespertoli and for Tuscany: its winning formula a success every year making it an important observatory for the wine sector. The Mostra del Chianti di Montespertoli, better known as the wine festival caters to everyone: eight days to find out about, taste and pay homage to the most typical Tuscan product in honour of Bacchus! “Waiting for the Mostra del Chianti” is a mini “event in an event” which from 28 May will be putting on concerts, organising contests between the districts of the town, putting up food stands and arranging folkloristic historic parades. The second phase consists of the Festival itself which will liven up the town streets from 2 to 5 June and will have wine as its unquestioned protagonist, thanks to the participation of the most important local wine producers. The exhibitors’ stands will be in Piazza Machiavelli: where wine tasting in all possible guises will be possible, accompanied by delightful Tuscan dishes and flavours. Wine remains the central focus and for the 54th year in a row, Montespertoli will resumes its role as the meeting place for wine lovers and not. The Mostra del Chianti di Montespertoli is also a showcase for tourism in Tuscany: like every other year there’ll be lots of guided tours and workshops, tastings and stays in farm holiday centres immersed in the countryside.
